AVA-OED provides mentors who can answer student questions via Help Center (academic.amauonline.com). OED student-teacher ratio is distributed across the number of courses the mentors are handling.
AMAOEd bids the student self-reliance in studying their lessons. This is the most significant difference between online and traditional schools. Therefore, students interested in pursuing an online degree should assess their determination to finish the degree by relying on their resourcefulness, comprehension, and preparedness for this new platform of learning.
Virtual classes are scheduled for selected courses, and Non-ICT programs are all asynchronous. Virtual class schedules are held at the discretion of OEd mentors. You may reach mentors through OEd’s ticketing system. These “tickets” are answered during regular school hours on weekdays with a response time of 24 to 48 hours.
Log in to the student portal (oedportal.amauonline.com), go to the Profile menu, then click the update profile button to update your student profile. A female student requesting to change her surname should raise a ticket to OEd Buddy (helpcenters.amauonline.com) attached authenticated marriage certificate.
Once payment has been processed and reflected, a new button called MyLMS will appear in your portal. Click on this button to begin your coursework.
Courses are activated instantly as a student’s payment is reflected.
If you require additional assistance, please get in touch with your OEd Buddy.
If such a situation occurs, please submit a ticket to techsupport.amauonline.com or contact your OEd buddy for support.
To start with the courses you enrolled in, follow these steps:
1. Login first on your portal (oedportal.amauonline.com) then on your left menu, you will see “My LMS”, click that and you will be automatically directed to the LMS platform.
2. Click DASHBOARD to view the list of courses you’re enrolled in.
Optional: You can change the course view by Name or Card Layout.
3. Click the course that you would like to access. Note that courses in LMS have course tracking associated with it. That means some restrictions are added to the settings to ensure that students will follow the correct structure and requirements of the course. It always starts with the Week 1 topic, followed by assessments uploaded for each week’s topic.
If there are additional materials in the general section, like Course Syllabus, Announcement, and other Links, make it a habit to open and read them before you access the Week 1 and so on topics.
There are three types of video materials uploaded to LMS.
1. Video lectures from the Subjects Matter Experts (SMEs) – To access this, click the Week’s Lesson, then click the Icon Video Lecture.
2. Virtual Class Recordings from our in-house mentors – To access this, click the link below the Week’s Lesson, usually in the form of a URL or Links.
3. Video lecture from our learning partner: To access this, click the ENABLE VIDEO LECTURES found in the general section of the course. Clicking on this will automatically redirect you to the log-in page of Linkedin. After successful log-in, close the window and go back again in LMS, then open the lesson with videos from Linkedin Learning.
If your video lecture activation has expired after logging out from the LMS, simply click on the “Enable Video Lectures” button again to reactivate them. To avoid this, please remember to always enable video lectures before starting your lessons. If the issue persists, please create a ticket at techsupport.amauonline.com.
Data Communication and Networking use Cisco Seat Token so that a student can access the modules and assessments uploaded to Netacad.com.
To request a seat token, create a ticket at academic.amauonline.com
Do not forget to include your complete name, course code/description, and primary concern.
All courses in OEd are delivered thru an online education platform. That includes PE and NSTP courses.
PE courses include physical activities requiring the students to perform them through video recording, which has to be uploaded in LMS for checking. To exempt the student with medical conditions and Persons with Disability (PWDs), sign the waiver provided in LMS, then include a medical certificate, PWD ID, and others as proof. Medical records are subject to validation before final approval of exempting the student from the physical activity.
NSTP courses required Community Service as the final requirement. Alternative activities are given to those students with medical conditions. To request alternative activities, create a ticket at academic.amauonline.com, and include your complete name, course code/description, and primary concern.
Regular exams like assignments, quizzes, and long quizzes are available after you have accessed the lessons per week’s topic.
While Final Exam is available after you access and answer the Course and Mentor Evaluation survey in the last part of the course.
Yes. Regular assessments and Final Exams are answered directly in LMS. While, laboratory Exercises, Case Studies, and Course Projects are assessments in which the student upload their answer in LMS and are checked manually by the mentor in charge of the course.
All assessments in LMS are time bound except for activities that require manual checking. The time limit per assessment depends on the questions’ difficulty level and the number of items. Please refer to the time limit provided in LMS as a general overview before you access the assessments.
The question behavior for assignments, quizzes, long quizzes, and final Exam is in Adaptive Mode.
In this question behavior, a student may review their answer, whether correct or not, during the attempt. If the student’s answer is incorrect, the system permits them to reselect a new response with a 0.33 deduction for multiple types and a certain percentage for others.
Adaptive Mode also allows the student to access the review option for the assessment, with that a request for a re-attempt or retake is no longer permitted. Thus a second attempt may be allowed if the course total is below 50%. However, if the student fails the course total for the second time, they may request a removal exam with the corresponding fee. The request for removal exam must be emailed to oedbuddy.amauonline.com, or they can file to the address of academic.amauonline.com through OED Ticketing.
Answers to exams are automatically saved. You may still go back to your exam attempt if the time allotted has not expired. Otherwise, your score for the exam is final and no re-attempt will be given.
Note that it is your responsibility to ensure the reliability of all software and hardware that you will be using during the online quiz or exam.
Virtual Classes are all recorded, and you can always replay them once you miss joining the live class. Attending the course is highly recommended so you can meet your mentor and ask questions in real-time to enhance your learning experience with OED.
To know the courses with scheduled virtual classes, click the LATEST ANNOUNCEMENT block in LMS and look for the announcement.
Always look for a “hand tool” in LMS to submit your homework or assignments with manual checking. For submissions exceeding the allowable file limit in LMS, upload your answer in any drive you’re using, then share the LMS submission link. Some assignments require you to click the SUBMIT button to proceed; click on it so the submitted activity is treated as final.
You can access your learning materials and assessments for a period of 14 weeks, which is equivalent to one trimester. Please check the portal tab under the courses tab to view the course duration for a particular program. However, please note that your access to the courses may also depend on the payment plan that you have chosen. It is essential to ensure that payment is up-to-date to maintain access to the materials and assessment.
It is possible that you still have a remaining balance, which needs to be settled before one can re-access the course. Alternatively, the 14-week duration may have already ended. Renew your access by re-enrolling or by course extension. Contact your OEd buddy for more information on how to settle your balance and/or extend your access.
Ensure all course requirements have been completed and outstanding fees are settled. Please check if the grade has been posted. Then you may now click the “New Term” button in your enrollment tab and choose the following line up of courses.
If you fail a course, you can request a retake final exam through the mentor in charge.
After taking the final exam and the course total is still failed, you can still request for a retake on the final exam but subject to removal exam fee. The removal Exam Fee is requested through your OED buddy; once paid with the exam, OED BUDDY will coordinate the exam opening with the mentor in charge.
Retake and removal are only applicable if the student access in LMS is still active. If the key to LMS expires, a student has to request the extension before the retake/removal exam may be facilitated by the mentor.
Students are only entitled to one discount at a time.
